ティラノザウルス？

令和7年8月8日（金曜日）
　今日は、西地区・三和里町会の盆踊りに行ってきました。途中、雨が降りましたが、みんな楽しく盆踊りを踊り、子どもたちはかき氷やポップコーンを食べて楽しく過ごしていました。

Today, I went to the Bon Odori festival held by the Nishi District and Miwasato Neighborhood Association. Although it rained partway through, everyone enjoyed dancing the Bon Odori, and the children had a great time eating shaved ice and popcorn.

　今日も4町会合同盆踊り大会が行われました。多くの子供たちと地域の皆さんで盛大に盛り上がりました！　ご準備いただいた皆様に心より感謝申し上げます。

Today, the joint Bon Odori festival of the four neighborhood associations was held once again. It was a lively and festive event, with many children and residents joining in the fun! We sincerely thank everyone who helped prepare for the event.

令和7年7月23日（水曜日）
　今日は、朝の6時から、校庭で開校150周年記念ラジオ体操大会が行われました。山本墨田区長さんを始め、来賓の方も参加され、総勢350人を超える盛会となりました。（この様子は、「校長室動画通信」サイトでご覧になれます。）
　また、夜には、4町会合同の盆踊り大会が行われました。浴衣で着飾った子供たちもたくさん来て、区内最大の櫓の上で踊っていました。
盆踊りは、24日の夜にも行われます。

This morning at 6 a.m., a commemorative radio calisthenics event was held on the school grounds to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the school's founding.
The event was a great success, with over 350 participants, including special guests such as Mr. Yamamoto, the Mayor of Sumida City. (You can watch a video of the event on the “Principal’s Motion Picture Reports” website.)
In the evening, a Bon Odori festival was held, jointly organized by four neighborhood associations.
Many children dressed in colorful yukata came to enjoy the festivities, dancing atop the largest yagura (festival tower) in the ward. The Bon Odori will also be held on the night of the 24th.

出前授業にきてくださいました。

子ども達は目をキラキラとさせて授業に参加させていました。

Members of the NPO “Oto o Tanoshimu ONGAKU no Kai,” which promotes the enjoyment of sound as music,
visited us to give a special outreach lesson.
They introduced various sounds, asking questions like,
“What does this sound like to you?” and “How does it make you feel?”
The students listened with sparkling eyes, fully engaged in the lesson.

みんな工夫を凝らして発表できました。

The first graders held a “School Exploration Presentation” in the gym.
Divided into groups, they shared what kinds of rooms they found in the school
by drawing on construction paper and using dolls to recreate the scenes.
Everyone came up with creative ways to present their findings.

◇2年生『とうもろこしの皮を剥いたよ』
今日の給食にでた「蒸しトウモロコシ」は、なんと2年生が全部剥いてくれました。
東京都の清瀬市というところからきたトウモロコシです。
ヒゲをアゴにあてててみたり、「皮を剥がすのが大変だね」と言いながら
楽しく剥いてくれました！
甘くてとてもおいしかったです。

2nd Grade: We Peeled Corn Husks!
The steamed corn served in today’s school lunch was actually all husked by the 2nd graders!
The corn came from Kiyose City in Tokyo.
Some students held the corn silk to their chins, while others said, “Peeling the husks is hard!” but students had fun doing it.
It was sweet and very delicious!

◇4年生『環境学習・清掃車が来た！』
校庭には清掃車が！でもちょっといつもと違う感じ。
中が見えてどんな風にゴミが収集されるかが見える「わかるくん」という学習用に特別に作られた車両です。
すみだ清掃事務所の方々が、分別の仕方や、収集の仕組みについて教えてくださいました。
みんなメモを取りながら熱心に聞くことができました。
4th Grade Environmental Learning: The Garbage Truck Came!
A garbage truck arrived in the schoolyard, but it looked a little different than usual.
It was a special educational vehicle called 'Wakarukun,' designed to show how garbage is collected by allowing students to see inside.
Staff from the Sumida Sanitation Office taught the students about how to sort waste and how the collection system works.
The fourth graders listened attentively and took notes with great interest.

Today again, second-year students from Terajima Junior High School came to visit us.
In their mixed-age groups, they ran around and played together with students,
and even helped clean the classroom.
They’re doing a fantastic job as big brothers and sisters to the younger kids!

　6年生は日光移動学習教室に行ってきました。天気が心配されましたが、私たちのために奇跡が起こったと言っていいほど天候に恵まれ、楽しい3日間を過ごすことができました。

The 6th graders went on a study trip to Nikko.
Although we were worried about the weather, we were blessed with such wonderful conditions that it felt like a miracle just for us.
Thanks to that, students were able to enjoy three fun-filled days.

地域の方々にお越しいただき
4年生が「墨田区の歴史」についてみなさんにインタビューをさせていただきました。
その昔トロリーバスが走っていた時代があったことや、
今のスカイツリーができる前のお話などを
写真をみながらお話してくださいました。

Today, we held our monthly “Fureai Salon.”
Local community members joined us, and the 4th-grade students conducted interviews about the history of Sumida City.
The guests shared stories about the days when trolleybuses used to run, and what the area was like before the Tokyo Skytree was built, while showing us old photographs.
We sincerely thank everyone who participated and shared their valuable stories with us.

　This morning, when the students arrived at school, they saw that the dragonfly nymph the third graders had collected from the swimming pool the other day had emerged in the 2nd Year Class 2 classroom, and it had grown into a magnificent green darner dragonfly.

『はえぬき』の苗を植えます

令和7年6月3日(火曜日)　『5年生、稲作に挑戦』
JA山形おきたまの飯豊地区青年部からお越しいただき
稲の育ち方、植え方を習い、実際にバケツに苗を植えてみました。
土をドロドロにする作業ではみんなドロンコになりながら土を混ぜ
10センチぐらいに育った苗を丁寧に植えました。

We had the pleasure of welcoming members from the Iide District Youth Division of JA Yamagata Okitama.
They taught us how rice grows and how to plant it, and we tried planting seedlings in buckets.
During the process of turning the soil into mud, everyone got muddy while mixing the soil.
We carefully planted seedlings that had grown to about 10 centimeters tall.
We’re excited to see how they’ll grow!

　月曜日からの3日間、3年生と4年生は演舞麗夢の皆さんの特別授業「ダンス教室」を体験しました。これは文部科学省の文化芸術鑑賞教室で特別に実施しているものです。子供たちは3日間かけて一つのダンスを完成させ、最終日の今日は発表会を行い、大いに盛り上がりました。演舞麗夢の皆さんからは、子供たちが気持ちを目一杯発散させ、思いっきりダンスに取り組んでくれてとても良かったとお褒めのことばもいただきました。五年前に初めて来ていただいたときと、「まるで別の学校かのように、子供たちが生き生きしていた」とおっしゃっていました。

Over three days, from Monday to Thursday, the third- and fourth-grade students participated in a special dance class led by members of the Emblem. This program was part of a special initiative under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s Cultural and Artistic Appreciation Program.
Over the three days, the children worked together to complete a dance routine, and on the final day, today, they held a performance that was full of excitement and energy.
The members of the Emblem praised the students, saying they were impressed by how fully the children expressed themselves and enthusiastically engaged in the dance. They also remarked that compared to their first visit five years ago, it felt like a completely different school, with the children looking so lively and spirited.

1年生が「ソラマメのさやむき」に挑戦しました。
始めに先生からソラマメとはどんな豆かやむき方の説明がありました。
1年生の手には固いさやでしたが
「普通の豆より大きいね！」「そらまめくんのベッドだね」と
並べたり大きさを比べたりしながら楽しく作業できました。
ソラマメの青い香りが教室中に香っていました。
取り出したソラマメは給食でおいしくいただきました。

First graders took on the challenge of shelling broad beans.
At the beginning, the teacher explained what broad beans are and how to shell them.
The pods felt tough in the small hands of the first graders, but they cheerfully said things like,
"They're bigger than regular beans!" and "It's like Soramame-kun's bed!"
as they lined them up and compared their sizes.
The fresh, green scent of the broad beans filled the classroom.
The shelled beans were later enjoyed as part of their school lunch.

校庭では3年生が牛乳パックで種から育てた植物を植木鉢に植え替えていました。
「虫がいる！」「土が固くて(雑草が）抜けないよー！」とお友達と助け合いながら
作業していました。
今回は「ひまわり」「大豆」「ほうせんか」「オクラ」の4種類です。

In the schoolyard, the third graders were transplanting plants they had grown from seeds in milk cartons into flower pots.
While helping each other, they exclaimed things like,
“There’s a bug!” and “The soil is too hard! I can’t pull out the weeds!”
This time, they’re growing four types of plants: sunflowers, soybeans, balsam, and okra.
I wonder how they’ll grow!

今日3年生〜6年生は『イングリッシュキャラバン』がありました。
アメリカやフィリピン、イギリス、ジャマイカ、インド出身の先生が学校に来てくださり、
それぞれの国の特徴や食べ物の話など、写真を見ながら教えてくださいました。
とてもわかりやすい英語で子ども達もどんどん発言して盛り上がりました。

Today, 3rd to 6th grade students participated in the "English Caravan."
Teachers from the United States, the Philippines, the UK, Jamaica, and India visited our school and gave presentations using photos to teach us about the unique features and foods of their countries.
They spoke in easy-to-understand English, and the students actively participated and had a great time.

Today, the alum reunion for the 2025 school year was held in the gymnasium. Many junior high school students who finished school this spring gathered to enjoy a speech by Sumida City Superintendent Kato, a rakugo performance by the Terashima Junior High School Rakugo Club, and a picture-story show by Chicchi-san.

　今日は寺島中学校ブロックの幼保小中の先生方が、三吾小の学習時間の様子を見学に来てくれました。連休明け、最初の日でしたが、みんな活発に学習に取り組んでいました。
Today, teachers of the kindergartens, an elementary school, and a junior high school in the Terajima Junior High School District came to observe the learning activities at our school.
Despite being the first day after the holiday break, every student studied actively.

【1年生と2年生】『学校たんけん』
今年も2年生が1年生に学校の中を案内する『学校たんけん』がありました！
「ここは職員室だよ」「家庭科室ってどこだっけ？」とまわったところにシールを貼ってまわります。
2年生が「静かにね」「走らないよ」と言いながら上手に案内していました。
ちょっとだけお兄さんお姉さんのお顔になっていました。

First and Second Graders: "School Exploration"
The second graders once again guided the first graders around the school in the "School Exploration" event!
They placed stickers at the places they visited, saying things like, "This is the teachers' room," and "Do you remember where the home economics room is?"
The second graders skillfully guided them, reminding them to "Be quiet" and "Don't run."
They looked a bit like older brothers and sisters.

【3年生】『消防写生会』
3年生は消防車をモチーフにして描く写生会です。
向島消防署の方が来てくださり、消防車にはどんな設備が備わっているかを教えてくださいました。
雨が降ったりやんだりしていたので今年はピロティでの写生会となりました。
みんなよく見て画用紙いっぱいに消防車を描いていました。完成が楽しみです。
Third Graders: "Fire Truck Sketching Event"
The third graders participated in a sketching event where they drew fire trucks as their motif.
Members from the Mukojima Fire Station came and explained the various equipment installed in the fire trucks.
Due to intermittent rain, this year's sketching event was held in the piloti.
Students carefully observed and filled their drawing paper with fire trucks. We are excited to see the finished artworks.

　五月晴れの5月1日。今日は1年生と3年生が合同遠足で、旧中川の土手と平井七丁目第三児童遊園へ行ってきました。人数の少ない3年生が両方の手に1年生を連れて歩きました。土手や公園では、1日思いっきり遊び、楽しい時を過ごすことができました。公園で食べたお弁当もとてもおいしくいただきました。（「校長室動画通信」サイトで様子を紹介しています。）

On May 1st, under the clear May sky, the first and third graders went on a joint excursion to the banks of the Old Nakagawa River and the Hirai Seventh District Third Children's Park. The third graders, being fewer in number, walked hand in hand with the first graders. They spent the day playing to their heart's content on the riverbank and in the park, enjoying a wonderful time. 令和7年4月28日（月曜日）
　今日は、2年生と4年生が合同で亀戸中央公園まで遠足に出かけました。4年生と2年生がペアになって、学校から公園まで歩きました。公園では、4年生の実行委員がリーダーとなって、学級ごとのペアで一緒に遊びました。4年生も2年生も、思う存分走り回り、おいしいお弁当をいただき、楽しい一日となりました。（『校長室動画通信』サイトでも、今日の様子をお届けします。）

Today, the second- and fourth-grade students went on a joint excursion to Kameido Central Park. The fourth graders paired up with the second graders and walked from the school to the park. At the park, the fourth-grade committee members took the lead, and pairs from each class played together. Both the fourth and second graders ran around to their heart's content, enjoyed delicious packed lunches, and had a fun-filled day. 今日は強い地震を想定した避難訓練がありました。
1年生は初めてのことなので少し心配しましたが、
校庭での体育の授業だったので静かに集合して

Today, we conducted an evacuation drill in preparation for a strong earthquake.
The first graders were a bit worried since it was their first time,
but since they were having a physical education class in the schoolyard, they gathered quietly
and were able to listen to the vice principal's talk.

2年生からはあさがおの種をプレゼント、
3年生は「三吾小の一日」を劇で
4年生は給食に関する三択クイズを
5年生は今流行の「エッホ、エッホ」のリズムで「三吾小の約束」を
6年生は「6年生はこんなこともできる！」という工夫を凝らしたパフォーマンスで
1年生を歓迎しました。
1年生はお礼に「ドキドキドン！一年生」の歌を大きな声で歌ってくれました。
みんな短い間によく練習してくれました。

Today, we had a welcome ceremony for first-graders.
The second graders gave morning glory seeds as a gift.
The third graders performed a play called "A Day at San-Azu Elementary School."
The fourth graders held a multiple-choice quiz about school lunches.
The fifth graders recited "San-Azu Elementary School's Promises" to the rhythm of "Eho, Eho."
The sixth graders welcomed the first graders with a creative performance called "Sixth Graders Can Do This, Too!"
In return, the first graders sang "Dokidoki Don! First Graders" loudly as a gesture of thanks.
Every student practiced well in a short amount of time.

Starting today, the first-grade students finally began having school lunches!
They received instructions from their homeroom teachers on how to serve the food and open the milk cartons.
Everyone enjoyed their meal happily and deliciously.

Since it was the first time the first-grade students participated in the whole school assembly, we introduced the 95 first-grade students to the second to sixth graders.

校長先生に暗唱を聞いてもらうための列でした！
校長先生がお部屋にいるときは中休みと昼休みに実施しています。
間違えても大丈夫です。ぜひ挑戦してみてください。

During recess, there was a long line in the first-floor hallway...
Curious about what it was, I took a peek and found out it was a line to recite to the principal!
The principal listens to recitations during recess and lunch breaks in his office.
It's okay to make mistakes. Please feel free to give it a try!

　今日は、1年生が初めて教室に登校してきました。6年生が1年生の朝の支度をお世話していました。その後、6年生による絵本の読み聞かせをしているクラスもありました。
　どのクラスも落ち着いて学習に臨んでいます。素晴らしいスタートです。

Today, the first graders came to the classroom for the first time. The sixth graders were helping them with their morning preparations. Afterwards, the sixth graders read picture books to the first graders.
All the classes are calmly engaged in their studies. It's an excellent start.

　春爛漫の本日午後、95名の元気な一年生が第三吾嬬小学校に入学しました。6年生が立派に、新入生の案内を行いました。また、2年生は1年生の歓迎アトラクションを行い、うたと楽器の演奏を披露しました。

On this beautiful spring afternoon, 95 energetic first-year students were enrolled at Daisan-Azuma Elementary School. The sixth graders admirably guided the new students. Additionally, the second graders performed a welcome attraction for the first graders, showcasing songs and musical performances.

　今年度から、休み時間の後もチャイムは鳴りません。自分たちで時計を見て、教室に戻ります。6年生が下級生に声をかけてくれています。
　その6年生は、他の学年の子たちが下校した後、明日の入学式に向けて教室や体育館の準備をしてくれました。一人一人が主体的に活動している様子は、とても頼もしいです。

This year, the bell will not ring after recess, either. Students will check the time themselves and return to the classrooms. The sixth graders are helping the younger students, saying, "Let's go back to the classroom!"
After the other grades have gone home, the sixth graders prepare the first-graders' classrooms and gymnasium for tomorrow's entrance ceremony. Each student is actively participating, which is very encouraging.
