水仙がいい香りです

令和5年2月24日（金曜日）
　今日から学級閉鎖をしていた4年生たちが戻ってきました。まだインフルエンザでお休みの子もいます。
　1年前の今日は、ロシアによるウクライナへの軍事侵攻が始まった日です。悲しい戦闘は、未だ終わりが見えません。トルコの大地震の被害者も大変な状況が続いています。1日も早く、世界の人々に平穏な日常が戻りますように…。

The two classes of fourth graders came back to school today. Some are still absent because of the flu.
On February 24th, 2022, the Russians started to invade Ukraine. We cannot see the exit for the tragic battle. The victims of the great earthquake in Turkey (and Syria) are still in a terrible situation. May peaceful daily life return to the people on earth as soon as possible...

　これまで7年間にわたり、本校の土日祝日の管理員さんを勤められたY.G.さんが、今週末でご退職になると伺い、職員からお礼の花束を贈らせていただきました。子どもたちや子ども会のみなさんが大変お世話になりました。長年にわたり、ありがとうございました。

Mr. Y. G., who has worked as a guard at our school for Sat., Sun., and national holidays, will retire this weekend. We, teachers, sent him flowers of gratitude. He took good care of our students and children's associations. We appreciate him very much for his long career.

　1月の学校だよりでお伝えした、3年生のT.H.さんが作成していた恐竜の着ぐるみが完成しました。今日は、完成した着ぐるみのお披露目と、製作の様子についての発表をしてくれました。クラスの代表でI.L.さんが着ぐるみを着てくれました。とてもよくできていて、みんな大興奮！　プレゼンも、3年生とは思えない、素晴らしい内容でした！

The dinosaur costume that T.H. in the third grade had been making, which we reported in the January School Report, was completed at last. Today he showed it and made a presentation of the making of the costume. Ms. I. L. wore the outfit. It was amazingly well made, and everyone in the class was excited! The presentation was also excellent.

JFEスチール製鉄所見学

　今日は5年生が社会科見学で千葉市にあるJFEスチール東日本製鉄所と千葉市科学館を訪れました。2000度で溶かした鉄を鋼のコイルにする行程を見学しました。科学館では「イクラづくり」体験や、様々な実験等をすることができました。とてもいい学習になりました。

The fifth-grade students went on a social studies excursion to Japan Fe Engineering Steel East Japan Steel Works and The Science Museum in Chiba City. They watched the process of turning the iron melted at 2,000 degrees Celsius iinto steel oils. At the Science Museum, students experienced many experiments like "Ikra Making." They studied a lot today.

　先日、朝礼でも紹介した「こどもアイディアコンテスト」（明治安田生命主催、キリン、三菱製紙、バスクリン共催）に本校児童が応募をし、5年生のA.Y.さんが優秀賞（応募415作品のうち、7作品）をいただきましたが、今日は学校への副賞として明治安田生命の皆さんからサッカーボールをいただきました。体育や休み時間に使わせていただきます。ありがとうございました。

A. Y., in the fifth grade, got the award (only seven out of 415 ideas) in the 'Children's Idea Contest' (sponsored by Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance, Kirin, Mitsubishi Paper, Bathclin). Today Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance co. People came to school to give us soccer balls as an additional prize. We'll use the balls in P.E. class and recess. Thank you very much!

　卒業を控えた6年生のために、保護者の皆さんがスポーツイベント「ドッジボール大会」を開いてくれました。暖かい陽気の中、6年生がお父さん、お母さん、先生たちと、本気でドッジボールを楽しみました。（この後の、筋肉痛が怖い！）

　今日は5年生の理科の授業を見に行ってきました。赤ちゃんの誕生について、それぞれが調べたことを発表し合う「ジグソー法」の学習を行っていました。タブレットを活用して、自分が調べたことを他の人に伝える練習をしていました。

Today I went to see a fifth-grade science class. The students studied the birth of a baby. They were learning the method of 'Jigsaw Study,' in which each student presented what they studied themselves. They used their tablets and practiced presentations to other students.
